As of January 23, 2017, the municipality is under state of calamity. According to the Municipal Disaster, Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) report, majority of the barangays especially those situated along river and lowland areas are underwater as a result of the continuous downpour of heavy rain particularly in barangays: Rajah Muda, Bagoinged, Inug-ug, Fort-Pikit, Barungis, Bulol, Kabasalan, Buliok, Punol, Talitay, Balungis, Batulawan, Paaidu Pulangi, Bulod, katilacan, Macasendeg, Damalasak, Balatican, Nabundas, Lagunde, Manaulanan, Gli-gli, Silik, Kolambog, Langayen, Pamalian, macabual and Balong.

Report of the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMA) as of January 23,
2017, the flood water has affected 3, 893 farmers and damaged 3, 861.5 hectares
of farmland planted with rice, corn, vegetables and fruits, Estimated amount of
loss is 79,167,282.50 million pesos.
